What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis to find solutions and improvements to problems or situations in your life where you wish to change the way you feel or change automatic responses.

Optimistic Sky

Hypnosis is a relaxed focussed state of mind which allows the unconscious /subconscious part of your mind to become more receptive to suggestion. During hypnosis you may feel focussed on yourself and your thoughts and somewhat detached from your surroundings. People experience hypnosis differently according to an individuals hypnotic susceptibility. However even a very light trance can bring dramatic changes on the basis of the suggestions given in the session.

Naturally you may be concerned about the idea of handing over control of your mind to another person, but this is really not the case. You will hear everything in a hypnosis session, the suggestion and aim of the therapy is clearly defined and agreed during the consultation before hand. Every suggestion given to you under hypnosis is either accepted or rejected by you, phrasing difficult changes in a positive frame eg "you have no desire to eat chocolate, not eating any chocolate makes you feel so good about yourself" makes it easier to accept. With hypnosis you must be sure of the changes you are wanting to make, you need a degree of commitment in order for the therapy to work, for the suggestions to take effect.

Hypnosis can help with anything which involves changing the way you feel or the way you react. Automatic reactions often come from the unconscious mind, as a learned response that you perhaps do not consciously think about. Hypnotherapy can help with many areas of self improvement. Hypnotherapy sessions are available in Lincoln and throughout Lincolnshire, MP3s and CD's are available worldwide.

Perhaps you are learning a musical instrument and would like to learn faster, find it easier, or perhaps you are a performer who suffers from stage fright. Hypnotherapy can help with these and many other issues. If you are studying you may be finding it hard to keep on top of the work, hypnosis can help you to be more motivated, more organised and more receptive to learning new things, remembering more and understanding everything more clearly. If you are looking to become a more confident version of you, or less anxious, perhaps you have a physical symptom that is coming from a deep rooted anxiety? Do you want to change, to improve yourself, feel better, feel happier? Hypnotherapy may be the answer.
