Improving Relationships with Friends & Loved Ones |
'Shared joy is a double joy; shared sorrow is half a sorrow.' ~ Swedish Proverb Some of the essentials of good relationships with relatives, loved ones, friends and work colleagues are communication, confidence, empathy, honesty and caring enough to make an effort. Communication |
| We all communicate differently, some more effectively than others and this is the cornerstone of our success or otherwise in our relationships with others. Having the courage to self criticise, to take responsibility for our weaker points enables us to learn to change for the better. The benefits of improved communication are immense, the way we express ourselves gives away a lot about us, and being in control of that process is a huge advantage in life. |

Confidence Lacking confidence makes it harder for you to come across well to others. Your communication and self-expression often suffers, opportunities are missed, perhaps ignored as your subconscious mind keeps you down with feelings of inadequacy, feeling not good enough, that other people are better than you, that you are not up to the mark. These are common feelings when there is a significant lack of confidence. It is important for you to feel good about yourself if you want others to like, admire and respect you. With difficult relationships it can be hard to express yourself without knowingly antagonising the other person, it may feel like you have to tread carefully to avoid arguments. With situations like this you need to find solutions to avoid years of frustration or endless rows and estrangement |
